HORNET STUDENT-ATHLETES EARN 72 FALL ALL-ACADEMIC HONORS
April 27, 2022Sacramento State student-athletes in six fall sports have combined to receive 72 all-academic honors. The Hornets earned 60 Big Sky all-academic awards in football, volleyball, women’s soccer, and men’s and women’s cross country while the men’s soccer team had 12 players named Big West all-academic. -
SIX PLAYERS NAMED TO HAMPSHIRE HONOR SOCIETY
April 13, 2022The National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame (NFF) announced today that Josiah Erickson, Marcus Hawkins, Wyatt Hjelm, Malik Jeter, Taylor Powell and Kooper Richardson were named members of the 2022 NFF Hampshire Honor Society, which is comprised of college football players from all divisions of the NCAA, NAIA and sprint football who each maintained a cumulative 3.2 GPA or better throughout their college careers. -
FOOTBALL TO BEGIN SPRING PRACTICE ON TUESDAY
March 25, 2022The Sacramento State football team will hold the first of its 15 spring practices on Tuesday, March 29. The team is scheduled to practice on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday for the next five weeks, culminating with the final practice on Sat., April 30. -

KODI WHITFIELD NAMED SAFETIES COACH FOR FOOTBALL
January 27, 2022Kodi Whitfield has been hired as the safeties coach for Sacramento State football, it was announced today by head coach Troy Taylor. Whitfield comes to the Hornets from UCLA where he served as a graduate assistant for the past two seasons. -
PARKER, ERICKSON, SENTKOWSKI ADD TO BOUNTY TO COMPLETE AWARDS SEASON
January 13, 2022Center Thomas Parker, defensive end Josiah Erickson and kicker Kyle Sentkowski were all recognized as FCS All-Americans, it was announced this week.The honor is the third for Erickson, the second for Sentkowski and the first for Parker this postseason. The trio join tight end Marshel Martin as the four Hornets who have been named All-Americans for 2021. -

December 22, 2021Sacramento State tight end Marshel Martin continues to add to his already lengthy resume as he was named to the American Football Coaches Association All-America second team, it was announced today. Martin previously earned first team all-Big Sky Conference and was a Sophomore All-American by HERO Sports. -
SENTKOWSKI EARNS ALL-AMERICA ACCOLADES FROM STATS PERFORM
