  • KAMDEN BRAKEL NAMED BIG SKY MEN'S GOLF COACH OF THE YEAR

    Sacramento State’s Kamden Brakel has been named the Big Sky Conference Men’s Golf Coach of the Year, it was announced today. The honor is the second for Brakel in his career and the first since 2017.
  • MEN'S GOLF SELECTED TO COMPETE AT CLE ELUM REGIONAL IN NCAA POSTSEASON

    The Sacramento State men's golf team was selected to play at the Cle Elum Regional of the 2021 NCAA Div. I Men's Golf Championship, it was announced today. The tournament will take place on May 17-19 at Tumble Creek Golf and Country Club.
  • MEN'S GOLF, DAVIDSON WIN BIG SKY CHAMPIONSHIP TITLES

    Sacramento State claimed its fourth Big Sky Men’s Golf Championship team title in school history and led wire-to-wire en route to a 19-stroke victory on Tuesday at Boulder Creek Golf Club. The Hornets shot 299-285-280-884 to finish even par for the tournament and earn an automatic berth to an NCAA Regional. The title follows victories from the fall of 1996 and 1997 and the spring of 2017.

    With four scores of 73 or better, the Sacramento State men’s golf team was able to extend its lead at the Big Sky Championships to 14 strokes after the second round on Monday at Boulder Creek Golf Club.

    The Sacramento State men’s golf team finished the first day of the Big Sky Championship with a 5-stroke lead during a windy Sunday morning at Boulder Creek Golf Course. The Hornets were led by Casey Leebrick who was the only player in the field to finish under par. Leebrick concluded the round at 2-under par and leads the tournament by four strokes.

    The Sacramento State men’s golf team returns to Boulder Creek Golf Club for the Big Sky Championship on Apr. 25-27. The three-round tournament will have a single round each day and the winning team will earn an automatic berth to an NCAA Regional.

    The Sacramento State men’s golf team finished 5-under par during the third round and concluded the El Macero Classic in 13th place on Monday. The Hornets shot 310-294-283-887 for the tournament and counted rounds of 69, 70, 72 and 72 during the round.

The Hornets are in seventh place in the team standings heading into Tuesday’s final round.

    The Sacramento State men’s golf team returns to competition for the first time in two weeks as it travels to the Pacific Northwest for the SeattleU Redhawks Invitational at Chambers Bay Golf Course.     On a picture perfect day with temperatures in the lows 70s and no winds, it was Mother Nature who was victorious during the first day of the Sacramento State Invitational as the second round was halted by darkness. The teams, which have two to three holes left to play, will complete the second round starting at 8:00 a.m. and then roll directly into the third round with the some pairings.

    The Sacramento State men’s golf team returns to action at The Joust beginning on Monday, Feb. 22, at Goose Creek Golf Club in Jurupa Valley, Calif. The three-round event will consist of 32 holes on Monday followed by a single round on Tuesday. The Hornets will be paired with Loyola Marymount and North Dakota State during the first day. All groups will begin with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. and Sacramento State will tee off from the 11th-13th holes.

    The Sacramento State men’s golf team combined to shoot 13-under par during the final round of the Pizza Hut Pat Hicks Invitational on Monday and finished the tournament tied for fourth place. The Hornets’ total of 275 was the lowest among the 12 teams during the day and is tied for the fifth-lowest in school history.
