NATABOU EARNS BIG SKY PLAYER OF THE WEEK FOLLOWING CAREER PERFORMANCE

FARMINGTON, Utah — Sacramento State freshman Isnelle Natabou was selected as the Big Sky Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week, it was announced today. The honor is the first for Natabou and she joins Lianna Tillman as Hornets who have earned the award this season.

In the team's 70-58 win at Portland State, Natabou recorded her sixth double-double of the season with 14 points and a career high 22 rebounds to go along with two blocked shots. She became the first Hornet to have 20 rebounds in a game since Kennedy Nicholas grabbed 20 against Southern Utah on Jan. 19, 2019. Her total ties her for the second most rebounds in a game in Sacramento State history, trailing only Kylie Kuhn's 23 against USF on Dec. 1, 2010 and matching Kellie Kuepler's mark against Saint Mary's on Dec. 6, 1996. Natabou's total is also tied for the fourth best in all of NCAA Div. I women's basketball this season.

Natabou scored 14 points with 12 coming in the second half. The freshman made 5-of-6 shots in the final two quarters. She has now scored in 10 or more points in five consecutive games and seven of the last eight. During that stretch, she is averaging 15.8 points and 11.3 rebounds.

In 14 games this season, Natabou ranks second on the team with 13.3 points per game and leads Sacramento State with 10.2 rebounds per game and a 58.2 field goal percentage. Her rebounding average is the best in the Big Sky this season and ranks 29th nationally.

Sacramento State starts a three-game homestand on Thursday against Eastern Washington at 7 p.m. in The Nest. The game can also be viewed on ESPN+.
