  • WOMEN'S GOLF FINISHES 13TH AT NCAA STANFORD REGIONAL

    The Sacramento State women’s golf concluded its 2021 season by recording its best three-round score in school NCAA Div. I postseason history. The Hornets shot 288 during the final round and wrapped up the tournament with a total of 883 to finish 13th.
  • KOGA LEADS CLOSELY GROUPED WOMEN'S GOLF IN SECOND ROUND OF NCAA STANFORD REGIONAL

    The Sacramento State women’s golf team had all five of its golfers shoot between 73 and 77 during the second round of the NCAA Stanford Regional on Tuesday. The Hornets totaled 298 as a team and were led by Jennifer Koga who shot 73.

  • WOMEN'S GOLF TO BEGIN PLAY AT NCAA STANFORD REGIONAL ON MONDAY

    The Sacramento State women’s golf team will make its fourth NCAA Div. I postseason appearance when it plays at the Stanford Regional on May 10-12 at the Stanford Golf Course. The team is seeded 17th among the 18 teams in the field. The top six teams along with the three best individuals outside of those teams will advance to the NCAA Championships at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz., on May 21-25.
  • DAVID SUTHERLAND NAMED BIG SKY WOMEN'S GOLF COACH OF THE YEAR

    Sacramento State’s David Sutherland was named the 2021 Big Sky Jeff Smith Women’s Golf Coach of the Year, it was announced today. Sutherland has now won the award four consecutive times (2017-19, 21) becoming the first coach in league history to do so.

    The Sacramento State women's golf team was selected to compete the Stanford Regional of the 2021 NCAA Div. I Women's Golf Championship. The tournament will take place on May 10-12 at Stanford Golf Course.

    The Sacramento State women’s golf team claimed the Big Sky Championship for the third time in its last four tries and Tess Blair became the second Hornet to win the individual title on Wednesday at Arrowhead Golf Course.

    The Sacramento State women’s golf team will take a three-stroke lead into the final round of the Big Sky Championship. The Hornets posted a team total of 304 during the second round on Tuesday which was the lowest score among the 11 teams.

    After six spring tournaments, the push for the NCAA postseason begins on Monday for the Sacramento State women’s golf team as it begins play at the Big Sky Championships. This year’s tournament will be held at Arrowhead Golf Club in Molalla, Ore. The three-round event will have a single 18-hole round on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

    For the second consecutive year, the Sacramento State women’s golf team has had an individual claim the top two awards for the Big Sky Conference as Jennifer Koga was named the league’s Golfer of the Year as well as Freshman of the Year, it was announced today. Koga was one of four Hornets who was honored with herself and Tess Blair named to the first team, Corinne Viden placed on the second team and Sydney Smith earning honorable mention.

    The Sacramento State women’s golf team is in sixth place after the first day of the Red Rocks Invitational on Saturday at Oak Creek Country Club. The second round was halted due to darkness with teams having between one and two holes remaining.

    The Sacramento State women’s golf team returns to action this weekend as it will compete at the Red Rocks Invitational in Sedona, Ariz. The three-round tournament will have 36 holes on Saturday beginning with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. The final round will come on Sunday with a single round also starting at 8:30.     Jennifer Koga recorded her second straight top-five finish as she tied for third at the Juli Inkster at Meadow Club Invitational on Tuesday. Koga shot 70-75-73-218 to finish at 2-over par. That performance follows a tie for fifth at The Gunrock Invitational last week.

    Jennifer Koga and Tess Blair each had rounds of 68 and are among the top 10 following the first two rounds of The Gunrock Invitational on Monday at Del Paso Country Club. Blair shot 68-72 and is tied for sixth while Koga posted rounds of 71-68 and is tied for fourth place. The tournament will conclude on Tuesday morning with a shotgun start at 8:15 a.m.

    It's been six months since the last time the Sacramento State men's and women's golf teams have competed in a collegiate tournament. COVID-19 drew what looked to be a promising season for both teams to an abrupt halt and the start of the 2020-21 season has already been pushed back until the spring.
