HORNET STUDENT-ATHLETES EARN 72 FALL ALL-ACADEMIC HONORS
April 27, 2022Sacramento State student-athletes in six fall sports have combined to receive 72 all-academic honors. The Hornets earned 60 Big Sky all-academic awards in football, volleyball, women’s soccer, and men’s and women’s cross country while the men’s soccer team had 12 players named Big West all-academic. -
DUNCAN LEADS CROSS COUNTRY AT NCAA WEST REGIONAL
November 12, 2021Cagnei Duncan recorded the best finish by a Hornet at an NCAA Cross Country Regional since 2013 as she placed 34th on Friday at Haggin Oaks Golf Course. -
CROSS COUNTRY TO HOST NCAA WEST REGIONAL ON FRIDAY
November 10, 2021For the fourth time in nine years, Sacramento will serve as the host of the NCAA Div. I Cross Country West Regional as the 2021 meet will be held on Friday, Nov. 12, at Haggin Oaks Golf Course. The women’s 6K race will take place at 10 a.m. while the men’s 10K competition will start at 11 a.m. Admission is free but there will be a $10 parking fee per vehicle. The meet is co-hosted by Sacramento State and the Sacramento Sports Commission. -
CROSS COUNTRY LED BY DUNCAN, MARSHALL AT BIG SKY CHAMPIONSHIPS
October 29, 2021Cagnei Duncan led the Sacramento State women’s cross country team and Shane Marshall had the fastest time for the men at the 2021 Big Sky Championships on Friday at Meriwether National Golf Club. The Hornet women finished in eighth place while the men were 10th. -
CROSS COUNTRY TO COMPETE AT BIG SKY CHAMPIONSHIPS ON FRIDAY
October 28, 2021The first Big Sky championships of 2021-22 will be on the line at the Big Sky Cross Country Championships on Friday in Portland, Ore. The women’s 5K race will start at 11 a.m. with the men’s 8K race an hour later. Both races will be held at Meriwether National Golf Club in Hillsboro, Ore. -
WOMEN PLACE FIFTH BEHIND DUNCAN'S SIXTH-PLACE FINISH AT SANTA CLARA BRONCO INVITATIONAL
October 16, 2021Cagnei Duncan continued her strong 2021 season with a sixth-place showing at the Santa Clara Bronco Invitational on Saturday at Baylands Park. The Hornet women finished fifth out of 17 teams while the men were 13th of 15 in the final tuneup before the Big Sky Conference Championships. -
DUNCAN, VICTOR GUIDE WOMEN TO SECOND PLACE FINISH AT SACRAMENTO STATE XC INVITATIONAL
October 01, 2021Cagnei Duncan finished fifth and Rachel Victor was seventh to propel the Sacramento State women’s cross country team to a second place team finish at the Sacramento State XC Invitational on Friday at Johnson-Springvale Park. The Hornet men placed sixth and were led by Shane Marshall. -
CROSS COUNTRY TO HOST SACRAMENTO STATE XC INVITE ON FRIDAY
September 29, 2021The Hornet men’s and women’s cross country teams will return to action for the first time in nearly a month as they host the Sacramento State XC Invite on Friday, Oct. 1, in Rocklin, Calif. The men’s 8K race will start at 9:30 a.m. and will be followed by the women’s 6K race at 10:30 a.m.at Johnson-Springview Park. -
